This summer, OverDrive, First Book, and Random House Audio partnered together in a unique project -- a "community-sourced" audiobook. Setting up shop at the American Library Association's annual conference in Washington, D.C. this summer, all were welcome to come into the Lend Your Voice van and take part in the project. Hundreds of amateur narrators -- including librarians, authors, parents, and students -- came in to each read a page from L. Frank Baum's "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." The completed recording is now available for free downloading as an mp3 file, which you can listen to on your iPod or computer.
Our Teen Librarian was at the ALA conference and had the chance to participate in this event! You can download the audiobook, then hear her read a page from Chapter 20 of the novel, "The Dainty China Country." (You can hear her at 3:21:13 in the mp3 file.)
